From Twitter Follower to $50K in Trading Payouts: EBITDAddy's Journey with TWT

An Exclusive Interview About a Member's Journey From Struggling Gambler to Consistently Profitable Trader

Hey Titans,

Ever wonder what it's like to go from a struggling trader to consistently crushing it?

Meet EBITDAddy, a 33 year old professional who, like many of you, was a loyal SetFeed Twitter follower trying to make some extra cash on the side. About a year ago, in a last-ditch effort to turn things around, he pulled the trigger on a premium membership and never looked back.

He just hit some major milestones in 2024: not blowing up a single prop account all year and taking over $50k in payouts! He’s even finally able to put a downpayment on a house.

EBITDAddy has been getting consistent payouts this year.

But it wasn't always smooth sailing. EBITDAddy battled with the gambling mindset, prop account blowups, and the dreaded over-trading demon. Sound familiar?

We recently sat down with him to hear more about his journey and how TWT made the difference. Read on for the complete interview.

But first, let’s see how TWT is doing so far with stock picks:

  • $TSLA: Jay shared it at $230 with a target of $250. Now $260 (+13%).

  • $TDS: Given at ~$23 by Jay. Was up about 5% last week (but we’re in no hurry).

  • $ORLY: Ven shared it at $1140. Now over $1160 (and one of the few stocks that was green throughout today’s ugly morning sell).

Interview with 'EBITDAddy'

Tell us about your background and your trading journey before TWT

I'm 33 and have been in finance my whole career. Trading always intrigued me. I started off being semi active with ETFs, and then got into options — covered calls and covered puts, doing the wheel strategy, and things like that. And then I slowly just got into more intraday and swing type strategies using indicators like RSI, moving averages. I'd say I did that for about five or six years. Then, I started learning more about volume and order, flow, which is where I got into following Adam Set.

What were some of the challenges you initially faced?

The biggest challenge for me throughout my trading career was always just the behavioral aspect of it. Not getting too greedy after a win or getting too greedy after a loss. You know, I kind of grew up as a gambler. I grew up a mile away from a horse racetrack. I was betting on ponies when I was, like, 13 years old, because my best friend's dad was a jockey. So that's like, the gambling background, and that's always been, like, the biggest struggle of mine is kind of overcoming that gambling mindset.

What are the top takeaways you learned from TWT that made the biggest difference in your trading success?

Two things: risk management and learning to read order flow. Risk management completely turned my trading around. I used to panic-sell winners and always let my losers go for longer, because I would just hope that it would turn around. And that always ended up having me make less on my winners and lose more on my losers.

Since I've joined TWT, that's completely shifted. Once I joined and learned the risk management aspect and saw it in practice day after day, I think that's been the biggest difference for me over the last year or two.

Learning order flow has also been, like a really big, big game changer. Those concepts helped me understand the significance of certain levels versus other levels, and being able to stay patient. It’s helped me understand when to enter and the magnitude at which I should be entering, so that I maximize how much I’m making on winners and also minimize how much I’m losing on losers.

How has your trading improved since joining TWT?

When I joined TWT this time last year, it was almost like a last ditch thing. It was like: I need help. And so I joined seeking that help. And the goal was to start taking consistent payouts and have these accounts survive.

It wasn't like, I made a shit ton of money right off the bat when I joined. It took some time to understand what you guys were preaching and actually practice it myself to the point where I could execute it properly.

This year, in 2024 I reached a couple different milestones that I was trying to achieve. I reached dollar value milestone, where I've taken $50,000 in payouts. And then the other milestone is having my prop accounts last the entire year so far, which was a big issue for me before.

That’s absolutely incredible. Congratulations!

It feels good. It doesn't feel as good as I wanted to, just because the IRS is absolutely crushing.

Hey, that’s a good problem to have, right?

I can't complain. I have enough for a down payment now, which I'm really excited about.

What role did the TWT community play in your journey?

Without a doubt, the community has been great. Initially, when I was struggling to succeed, that was tough to deal with mentally. I reached out on the side to some of the members that are in here every day, and they helped me get through those struggles and to realize that I can really do this and make this a successful career.

Just understanding that that's part of the game, and you just got to be the best version of yourself when you're trading every single day, was huge for me. That’s why now that I feel like I'm a veteran in this community, I try to give that back as well to the some of the new people. I'm always saying, like, feel free to DM me. And people have, and I've been able to provide some feedback to other people that they might need in those moments, just like how other people helped me when I was in need. And so that's been a really valuable aspect to my trading career.

What would you say to those who are followers of Set and Jay on Twitter but are on the fence about joining TWT?

I would say that it's good to make a commitment to joining the community instead of just trying to follow them on Twitter. Because not only are they more active on TWT, you get way more out of this as a service, other than just getting alerts from Set and Jay to just piggyback off their trades.

I am now a true believer that the that volume and order flow is possibly the best way to gain an edge in everyday markets. And TWT has a ton of resources from that perspective. It's the live trading, where you have all of you guys providing levels and rationale behind the levels, and then just the education that comes from that day in, day out.

It's about the mindset. It's about the resources, and utilizing those resources, along with the additional activity from the guys, to become a better trader yourself. So that way, eventually you won't need this type of community. You'll still want this community, and you'll be a part of it, and it'll be a part of you, but the whole design is to become a better trader yourself, so that way you can be successful.

And that's where joining this community was really, like the game changer for me, because I was following Set on Twitter for like, three or four months. And you know, you can hit a trade here and there, but you don't really understand why that trade worked. But joining TWT and being in here every day and learning from the from the people in the room and learning from the admins, you just become a better trader and a more successful trader, versus just being on Twitter trying to try to scrub alerts off of some free accounts.

So I guess the message is… it's worth giving it a shot?

Definitely is. And once you join, you won't leave!

My Take

I’ve watched EBITDAddy grow over the last year and think he really hit the nail on the head. Behind all the amazing results, let’s look at what helped him get to the next level:

Understanding the core order flow concepts.

Practicing proper risk management — i.e. not gambling!

Learning from watching the team execute and TWT’s resources.

Getting support from the TWT community.

None of this is rocket science. By deciding to make a change, setting ambitious goals, and fully committing to our community to learn, he achieved truly life-changing results in under a year.

The last thing I’ll add: EBITDAddy was incredibly consistent. The big payouts didn’t come on the first day, or even the first month. But he showed up every day and put the work in. See for yourself:

By racking up consistent wins week after week, he accomplished what many of us are striving for. None of these numbers are mind blowing in isolation, but they represent the slow and steady progress needed to get there.
